Health & Fitness Update

Well well well,

 this is becoming quite a recurring theme here… not posting ahha.

I don't know why but I forget I have this blog… until someone reminds me!

Maybe I should set a reminder on my phone! AAaa

Well bit of an update for you… I'm still swimming lots and lots… I'm going to be starting a morning session after Christmas! Not sure how my body is going to manage that one! It doesn't even like getting up for 6:30 let alone 4:30 :/

Umm running is still quite slack… BUT… I'm going back to the track on Tuesday as I have now put it off for 2 weeks on the trot!

Oh guess what! I'm doing the 30 day plank challenge with my friend… ok i've just reminded myself that I need to get off my backside and do a minute plank :/ need to find a good youtube video to keep me entertained through that one! Those washboard abs will be mineeee! haha joking I just need a better core strength!

Struggling



I've not been running too much lately. I've kind of gone off it which is a shame. I really really want to be enthusiastic but when it comes to it I just really cannot be bothered. I am still leading my running group but even that I really have to drag myself out to do it. As a result i've completely lost my stamina, I am dead after about 3 miles. I did 4 tonight with my group but it was a struggle for me. 

I have been swimming 3 times a week since February, missing the occasional session due to other commitments. I've also began teaching swimming which is great fun. So I am still getting some fitness in, I just want to run because running makes me feel free, I can just keep running and running thinking about everything in my life that's been getting to me or what I want to do and it just gets processed through my mind during a run. 

I want to write a plan, but I don't want to waste any more time writing a plan if i'm not going to bother running. It just makes it a complete waste of time. I'm going to try and get up early and go for a short run tomorrow morning just to start me getting back into it.

Another factor is time. I find it really difficult to get up in the morning but in the evening i'm just tired! Someone please motivate me!

Update

Hi Guys, 

I know I keep saying it but I really wish I would post here more often. 

I have had a really good good month fitness wise!

I had another swimming competition & did pretty well, i've definitely improved a lot since the last one! I only have 2 more sessions left until we break for summer so I'm a little sad about that! 

Its been very difficult running in this heat! But i managed a 4 mile last weekend and a 20 minute run yesterday. 

I'm currently housesitting at my aunties and she has a treadmill on the garage so I will be on there soon! I have 4 weeks until i'm going to be sat by a pool in my bikinis so I need to make sure this stomach is kept in shape!

And very soon I should be starting to get some coaching/ teaching qualifications! I am so excited about that as it kind of feels like i'll be starting to put my degree to some good work!

Oh and one more thing, I started doing Yoga this week, I can only do it for a couple of weeks though as I have swimming on Thursdays when it starts back again :) I actually really liked the Yoga group but oh well, I definitely love my swimming!

Right i'm off to get on that treadmill before dinner.

Race For Life

Aloha :) 

Told you i'd blog more. 

Today I did the Race For Life! It was a really nice day today in comparison with what we've been having!

For a 5K I have to say i'm absolutely shattered! Normally feel like this after a half marathon not a 5K haha. Must have worked too hard! 

I think I may need to start running more. I've only been swimming hmm I enjoy that a lot though. 

I will try and devise a training plan :) I've also entered the Silverstone half marathon next year! Looking forward to that :)

A Bit Of A Catch Up For You





Hello!


Long time no speak. 

Ok so I have had the busiest 4 months of my life! I started a new job around the time I started this blog, probably a week after actually. I continued working in my other job so I was working 7 days a week for around 2 months. I'm currently only working 6 (ok thats still a lot) but I have handed in my notice at the part time one. I really don't want to leave though so i'm a little upset about that. However, I can't do everything can I?

So A couple of weeks after starting my new job I competed in a swimming gala, I didn't really do as well as I wanted to so I decided I needed to start training more. I've now joined a new squad at my swimming club so I train 3 times a week instead of the once that I was doing. I absolutely love doing it and swimming is such a great work out! 

I haven't really been running as much I really haven't had the time. Although, now that i'm almost working only 5 days a week... like a normal person, I will have lots of time for running! 

Oh I almost forgot, I ran the Half Marathon in a PB of 1:55! I was so so pleased and I really think it was swimming that made the difference because I really had not done much running at all :/ Not good.

I also went to Kenya for 2 weeks over the Easter Holidays where I worked in 2 schools, it's an experience i'll never ever forget and I absolutely loved it! So much that i'm going back next year! :)(please excuse my shiny sun-creamed face in the picture)

Day 6

Hey,

So for the past few days i've had a full on cold so gave myself a bit of a rest over the weekend. I went for a walk yesterday and today, so that was a little bit of exercise. I completely forgot to blog over the last 2 days.

I do feel a bit better today so i'm going down to the track tomorrow to get some good training in, provided I wake up better not worse haha.

Have some good video plans too woohoo!

Sorry i've not got much to write, had a rubbish day where I found out my cars going to cost £400 and something to repair. :(

Day 3

Yo!

I feel ill :( thinking about taking a day off from exercise tomorrow. 

Had a great day, ran 5 miles this morning with some hill training in the middle.

Watching August Rush now :) Sorry i'm way too tired to write much sooo i'm going to leave you with a picture of my dinner. Ok it looks absolutely disgusting but it actually tasted good... I named it Cauliflower surprise!

It's Cauliflower mashed with greek yogurt and then some chicken and mushrooms... ok we have not got much food in the house :D But I hid them in it so it was mm yeah.

Day 2

Hey,

Nearly forgot to write this today! Even though i've been snap happy taking pictures of my food all day. 

I got up this morning and had to wait for my new watch to be delivered! I had the same one for 2 years but in a slightly different colour, but this one is the cheapest one of the forerunner 110 so I decided to get this as the last one broke :( my old one was pink and grey. I was going to go for something else but decided I was happy with this one before so why change! Although after i'd opened it I saw in my magazine that the 240? I think its the 240 has £100 knocked off and I really wanted that one! :( But oh well. 

So this was my breakfast... chocolate all bran, skimmed milk and berrocca haha. I feel like i'm getting a sinus infection or something so cramming the berocca down to get my vitamins!


Then I ran 3 miles in 25 minutes, not record breaking time but good enough for me considering I haven't ran properly in ages! 

This is my lunch :D it was yum! haha I sound like a 4 year old :/ it was umm 3 carrots, 4 cherry tomatoes, lime and corriander homous and some lean ham. 



 I was so shattered from running. I went to Starbucks earlier and had a Vanilla Spice Latte :) It smelled gorgeous and I kept getting wafts of it while I was driving home. I also bought a copy of Runners World magazine yay :) Will go into that in more detail another day but it has some Pancake recipes in it so i'm definitely making pancakes tomorrow!


This was my dinner... I wanted to make it look all presented nicely but my dad was walking back into the kitchen and I had a plate of bits cut off from the toast and egg whites so I snapped and then shoved it all into the bowl before he wondered what I was doing. it was some nice veggies and then a poached egg on ww bread that i'd cut into rounds using a scone cutter thingy haha, I'm so cool! 

Well I'm exhausted so i'm going to bed!

Hello Day 1


Hi,

Ok so seeing as I wanted to make my first blog post today. I had to drag myself out running even though I was not feeling 100%. I had to lead my running group anyway and I have a new member which is fantastic! 

Today was the start of my training for the Reading Half Marathon which is on the 17th March 2013 :/ 

I have NOT trained. Because i'm rubbish. Okay well i've swam once a week but just not ran too much. so I have 9 and a half weeks to hurry up and get up to speed. 

When i've completed the 9 and a half weeks i'll post my training plan but I haven't actually written it yet... I'm doing that tomorrow. Along with a couple of personal training plans for family members. 

Today we ran 5:08 miles. This included just running 2 miles and then a bit of interval training in the middle. A pyramid set using lampposts up to 5 and then back down. Then a nice long run up huge hill before cooling down. 

I need to get myself out tomorrow!
